Either will work on the Keymander 2 as long as you have a Charge and Sync cable connecting the controller to the game pad port. The K2's box supplied one Micro USB Charge and Sync cable so the older Xbox One controllers would be able to work with that specific cable.

You can quickly test to see if you have a charge and sync cable by connecting your controller directly to your console via USB and seeing if the controller turns on by itself OR requires you to press the home button to power on. If it powers on and connects on its own, it is a charge and sync cable.
