wired controller as an input device?

i used to use a wireless controller with a charging cord to connect it to my keymander 2, but my charger port is really loose and doesn’t work if my controller is on the wrong angle. i bought a @play compact wired controller and i’m trying to use it to connect to my km2 so that i didn’t have to use my wireless controller and it works for a split second but stops and this repeats. any help?
