I need help setting this up lol… my controller isn’t connecting, but my adapter is on

Are you on Xbox? Is your controller a white 1708 model that shipped with the Xbox One S? If so, connect your controller directly to the console without any batteries in it, and use the micro USB cable. If it does not turn on without pressing the Xbox button, there's a USB problem with the controller.
